Does anyone know about speakers for laptops, I want really good sound quality so I can use this instead of a stereo. My laptop is a dell inspiron 6000 and i assume it has some kind of internal sound card although this wasnt on the specs when i bought it. The built in speakers are'nt bad for movies and things but dont cut the mustard for loud music. I thinking about buying an external sound card would this make a big difference. Regarding the speakers any suggestions in around €100. Cheers

    I bought an external sound card and a Logitech® X-530 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/IE/EN,CRID=2177,CONTENTID=9067)

Well worth it for games/movies/music in your bedroom or what ever

I have the Dell Inspirion 9300. Looks well with the back speakers on stands and front speakers on my desk. I also use them with my Xbox which is in another place in my room so i didnt bother putting them on the walls and just thinking about it you probably cant!

I got this external sound card off ebay

You can get better and more expensive ones from the likes of Creative but have a look on ebay for less well know brands

Yeah i wouldnt mind speakers myself thinking about it. I have an iBook and was in town the other day and the lad in dixons said he had no speakers left. Do any of ye know if there are other great shops about that sell either wired up or wireless speakers for anything below €150...?

Ya ive seen some really nice speakers in Maplin too reasonably priced. Not sure about the wireless ones though, dont you have to hook a transmitter up to your laptop as well, I dont see the point in that unless your hanging them all around the room then interference could also effect sound quality
