Looks interesting. Does anyone know if they will work with NTL Digital?

Should do. I picked up one of digi-senders Aldi had last time and it works fine. I've also got DECT and wifi (g) going throughout the house. All spaced apart mind you. When I did try to put the wireless router beside the digisender transmitter it did prove problematic on all 4 selectable channels.

It states "Suitable for satellite/or cable!, isn't NTL Cable ?..

Can you change the channel through them. I have digital downstairs but the normal pipe connection in my room is pure crap. If I put one those in my room do I have to watch the channel that is on the digital box downstairs or can you change channels through the transmitter?

Hmmm, I would get one of these if I could plug it into my Sky Digibox in the sitting room and then get all the channels on my bedroom TV, using the remote for channel changing, as normal  .

Just think of it as a really long SCART cable and that your remote control can still control the device being transmitted. That's literally the way it works (in the context of NTL and Sky digital). You could also use it to beam the signal from the TV out on your laptop/PC to your sitting room TV.

Am I correct in thinking that I don't need a cable running from a bedroom to sky downstairs in order to use this?

^^ Well I dont know about Sky,but I bought one of these last year for my dad and set it up downstairs with his Ntl digital and he can change stations from upstairs while my mam is looking at her programmes using the infa-red lead that probably comes with it, all wireless.....Very happy with it still....

Sorry, if I am being a bit dumb, but are you saying that I can switch off my sitting room tv, and then take my Skybox 'Remote control' into the bedroom and I can control/switch channels etc, via the Videosender on my bedroom TV, all without wires ?...as you can tell, I am a real technophobe :) Thanks.

Yup Paddy but you have to place the infa-red thingy over were the sky infa red is and that goes into your wireless sender. No matter what it is a handy piece of kit.

I just want to clarify something, I've a cable connection, can I use this to have two tvs showing different channels at the same time?

No Toy - same channel on both...

got the lidl one a few weeks back - hooked it up to the ntl digi box/vcr/dvd to test

only prob was had to plug it straight into the digi box which only has one scart socket (i have the split scart lead for tv & video) :(
gonna get a scart female-female joiner & use the video side of the split lead

good news tho is it doesn't appear to affect the 'puter wireless network in the house either :D:D:D

there's an infra red pad thingy that sticks over the IR receiver on the digibox so channels/sound can be changed via the wireless receiver in the second room.
there's 3 'pads' so in theory you could control the digibox, dvd/vcr & tv set via the wireless receiver

if you take the scart output from a vcr instead then you could have access to both analog & digi channels on the 2nd tv as well :D (however you lose scart connection from vcr to first tv)

Right, so if I follow it properly then connecting my incoming connection to a vcr and then the vcr to the sender via scart (connecting to tv via av (or whatever you call it)) I can operate the vcr from another room, including changing the channel, while at the same time allowing a different channel on the first tv?

Surely the same channel is showing on both TVs - otherwise why do Sky/NTL charge for multiroom? ;)

Well I can't see a flaw in my thinking (we are blind to our own faults...) but it's an awkward set up, you can't see the vcr from the second room and it'll get in the way if you want to record something (which would only happen if three people wanted three different channels) Although, by extension, you could probably have three independent TVs in your house (unless the senders 'fight')

It's basically the same as recording one channel while you watch another.

If you see a flaw in the setup please correct me.

I'm not sure myself Toy.All I can vouch for is Sky... same channel shows up on each tv...

The flaw in yor logic is that the digibox can only decode one channel at a time, and not external box can change this fact. It'll work fine if your just working off analogue tv as that can be split as many times as youy lke and show different channel son each tv

So this should work for my cable connection then?

    Toy,
    Buy it and try it.
If it doesn't work Aldi will take it back with no questions asked. They are great like that.
I think that the digisender will only send the channel that is currently been transmitted over the SCART lead. You will not have an RF connection on the sender(although the receiver may) so it will not be able to transmit all channels.

    It depends:

NTL Analogue cable it will work.

For NTL Digital cable (the one with the decoder box) or for Chorus cable (of any type) it will show the same channel on both TV's

Did anyone manage to get this Video sender ?..if so,

    Missed it myself. Damnit !.
Can you 'change channels' from the receiver end ?..

I might have a second one up for grabs. The first one works great but the second one is out of range. You can transmit the signal to four recievers I think

    Guys,
Just picked up one this morning in Aldi Palmerstown - was maybe 10 / 15 left this morning. Set it up okay but just one problem - can't change the channel on the receiver - have to change it at source. i.e. my A/V input is my VCR downstairs (NTL analogue -> VCR -> TV) - any ideas ?

Never mind got it working ... cheers.

    Sean
