    That's rugged right there!

He had a chance early on in the clip to sweep him and finish it early, but he didn't take it. IMO, that's a result of sport-oriented training on his behalf. If he trained for a jungle confrontation he would have gone for the finish and a lot of tree-felling would have been prevented.

Kong is one a big dude taking on a T Rex's.

His getting a big shout out from me.

I feel that if he had used his crazy monkey defense before he went for the single leg take down he may well have finished that fight earlier
    Be that as it may,
When is the rematch? Will Rings Ireland be hosting it? :D

Its a big pile of .. yes.. Ape-sh*t

(except for the special effects .. which are a given these days anyway)

Honestly.... 80% filler, 20& special effects.

Non story, crap dialogue, nowhere characters, terrible pace, rubbish acting, feable editing.... Still, i'm a fussy so-and so..... so

I saw the origional Godzilla the other week and there's more movie-making put into that 1954 B&W low-budget movie than 10 secs of King Kong AND at least it has somrthing to say too.

Dammit he should have went for the Rear Naked Choke, the TRex gave up his back ways too easy...Remake is class, the new scrap with the TRexs is utter madness...and Kongs choeragraphy is amazing, will be pretty miffed if Serkis doesnt get an Oscar for this one.

Saw the movie at the weekend and I have to say it was thoroughly enjoyable. I recommend it 100%. I thought the acting was fine in it to be honest, the story was exactly the same as the original (isn't that the point of a remake anyway!) and the action sequences were off the hook! Two thumbs way way up from me.

    What zoological inaccuracies?

I saw it with my 6 year old son. We both loved it. I though the 3 on 1 with the T-Rex's was great!

Those are some good thoughts there tortega, whoever you are. I can't believe i'm about to argue about the behaviour of fictional characters. And its not even star wars.

About the wee fellas chasing the huge fellas. That seemed fine to me. Like wolves taking down a dear, or hyenas taking down a buffullo. Its fairly common for packs of small animals to 'spook' a herd like that. Its the best way to single out the weak ones, they might even just keel over during the chase. Did you notice thats all they were actually doing? Chasing and snapping at their heels.

I agree about the Vastatosaurus Rex (apparently decendents of T Rex) chasing Ann. The only logic is that it was killing on instinct, like a fox in a hen house, or a crocodile if you touch its tongue. Seemed a bit off though.

The fight was wierd. They did seem to be mouthing kong rather than biting him. But then the whole idea of an interspecies fight is a bit odd. Animals usually either fight their own kind, or hunt. And they most certainly weren't trying to eat kong. The snapping may have been just that, designed to hurt and frighten rather than kill for food. Sportsmanship.

Gorillas are very strong. A Gorilla could crush your jaw. A twenty five foot one could probably do that to the V Rex.

I had no problem with the last of his kind aspect. It was a hard place to live.

T-Rex's are inpervious to RNC's. I had a dream in which I fought a T-Rex and repeatedly tried to RNC him but he just kept fighting. I eventually impaled him. I reckon they don't get choked out because the muscles/skin around their arteries is too tough.

    Good fight though!

I saw 'Kong' today. Overall, I really enjoyed it ... although I do think it could have done with being an hour shorter.

As regards the natural history stuff: There are some pretty cool 'Natural history of skull island' books in the shops. Shiny paper and pretty colours.
