2 eastern europeans offered me a lovely Dell 610 today for €200 showed it to me as well..... but i asked if i got to keep the laptop or was i getting a phone book in the bag and they drove off :(

If i hadnt got my son with me i would have been tempted to grab it and leggit (know the area well would have done it very easily). Would that be a bad thing to do to these bad men with their phone book in a lappie bag :D

You would have got a Milk Can instead of a Computer if you'd fallen for it.

That's what I did the time I was being offered electronic gear from a car. That time it was two ''London business men''. passed it on to the Half Yards.

Same thing happened to a mate a few weeks back in the Tyrellstown D15 area (only the potential sellers were irish for a change!!!)

It was a Sony Vaio with the bag, charger and the whole shebang, when he said he was taking it, they went to follow him to the cash machine at which point he jumped into his car and ended up being pursued up around an industrial estate by 2 mad little feckers in a clapped out micra!!!!

Wasnt the best decision he ever made!

should of thrown your son on your shoulder, grabbed it, then leg it.

Train that young lad of yours in ASAP in case of any future incidents such as this. Depending on the wee ones height, your best bet may be for him to go for the shins. :)

Next time, give a casual wink to the boy and then grab the lappy after he gives a swift kick to the shins. LEEEROOY JENNKIIIINS!

People should never have anything to do with John Reillys, except the burning and extermination of them all.

How come no one ever mentions anything about the Romanian Gypos (female) swiping handbags from sweet old ladies on Dublin buses. My GF saw a girl attempt to do this, but she told the driver, who called the old woman up near the front of the bus.

"...Gypos, la la la la, what are they good for?
    Absolutely nothin, say it again"

Saw 3 people in a pub buy 3 boxs with mars bars in them. Took them at least 15 minutes to find out that their nokia was edible

There was a guy who posted here a while back who actually got stung by this scam. It would be a nice gesture to him if you did leg it with it and got in contact with him and gave it to him. Ahww. Or you could try catch him again and get yourself €200 :D:D:D

Anybody that thinks their getting a nice new lovely Dell laptop for 200e deserves to part with their money :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 374 ✭✭IceHawk

Remember: "You can't buy a Dell in the shops", so they hire travellers to drive around until they find someone who looks like they need a laptop, and then sell it to them.*
