Badminton runners are basically just indoor runners which you can get in any sports shop eg. Champion Sports, Lifestyle sports etc.

If you want proper badminton make runners you will pretty much only find them in the sports shops in badminton clubs. If you are located in Dublin then Terenure Badminton centre on Whitehall Road or Baldoyle always has them. Best brands would be Yonex, Ashaway, etc.

Thanks, My husband is looking for the Yonex brand. He reckons the indoor ones in local shops aren't what he's looking for, something to do with the soles.

Yep I use Yonex myself and find them to be the best. That rules out normal sports shops then so its the badminton centres is your only option.

Thanks for that, I'll pass it on to him.

I'm probably too late for this post.

First off, when your talking about getting badminton shoes for your hubby I presume your talking about a decent pair of Gum based soles, the yellowish type sole. Well you won't find many in the norm soprts shop like Lifestyle Sports or Champion (I worked there so should know), could possible get lucky in Elverys. There's also a little shop in Swords, not sure of the name of it but can give you directions.

Other than the above. Baldoyle/Terenure Badminton centre have a decent selection.

If your looking for Yonex shoes, or any Yonex products look up a company called "Baseline", they're the Yonex distributors in Ireland. Based in the business park in between Omni Shopping Centre (in Swords) and AIB. Don't have the number I'm afraid. They have a big warehouse with badminton, tennis and golf gear. Contact Yonex, they should give you the contact details. Just tell them you'd like to see what they have and they'll prob give you a good deal, especially with older stock etc. I have to try go up there and get myself a new racquet.

Lets us know how you got on

Go to Martin Evans sports in the Terenure BUI centre or at Fitwilliam Lawn Tennis Club on Appian way, Ranelagh.
He's got a full range of badminton, tennis and squash gear and is always willing to do a great deal.
Got a pair of badders runners and couple of racquets from him last year, and he threw in a carrier bag and grips... and even fixed a broken string for free the odd time.
I've a lot of time for excellent customer service like that :)
Champion Sports / Lifestyle etc.. are nothing more but "sports fashion" stores these days. I went in a few years back looking for non-marking soles, but the guys didnt understand why I'd want them and didnt know if they had any.
    Idiots...

Your spot on there Whiskeyman, Lifestyle and Champion are exactly that, bunch of idiots. I'll be up in Terenure BUI centre on Friday week (to support a ladies final match...oh and to have a few drinkies) so hopefully I can get a good deal on a racquet.
