Everyone has heard of the Seven Deadly Sins: Envy, Sloth, Gluttony, Wrath, Pride, Envy and Greed. But the seven next-worst can also land you in hot water with the Almighty, a top Bible scholar warns.

"Although not as fatal as the Seven Deadly Sins, which lead to eternal damnation, the Seven Not-So-Deadly Sins tick off the Lord in a big way," explained the Reverend Andy Breslewood.

"Committing one guarantees you a stint in purgatory." The seven are:

    1. SLOPPINESS -- "Heaven is immaculate," Rev. Breslewood pointed out. "A slob like Oscar in The Odd Couple may be cute on TV, but he won't get a warm welcome in Paradise."

    2. DULLNESS -- Boring others to death by telling the same corny jokes again and again can be more excruciating than shooting them.

    3. PHONINESS -- Putting on a bogus British accent when you merely vacationed in England for two weeks angers the Lord.

    4. RUDENESS -- Even if the person you're talking to is only a "lowly" waitress, be polite.

    5. COWARDICE -- If you're the type who stands by watching when bullies are beating up some nerd, your "goodness" is useless.

    6. IGNORANCE -- "It really irks God when someone prays to Him using poor grammar," the Bible scholar says.

    7. BLIND OBEDIENCE -- In some cases, being too much of a "yes" man, like Adolf Eichmann, can land you in Hell forever.
So what not so deadly sins do you think should be added ?

    Loudness.

Heaven should be peaceful. We don't need big mouths spoling things for everybody!

The one 'bout the fake Brit accent reminds me of a guy I knew. We used to go to see Spurs at home every so often. This chap used to get the London accent even before we got on the boat at Dun Laoghaire... he was afraid to use his real Ballyfermot accent in case the cops picked him up for being a terrorist.

Back on thread... i think that sloppiness should not be allowed on the list; I'm never goin' to get to heaven if it stays...

Mind you, the fact that I'm a born again atheist won't help either!

Off-Topicness: Theres nothing Pighead hates more than a poster veering wildly off topic. How hard can it possibly be to read the thread title and post a reply that has even a little bit of relevence to the topic at hand.

Got home last night at about 4.30 in the am and played a game of darts with my flatmate. As you can imagine the lads were a bit merry as they had embarked on a Christmas Drinking Session earlier on in the night. Pighead went for a double 20 missed by a good two yards and put a whole in the wall. Ah well Its the taking part that counts.
