Can anyone recommend a GOOD duplicate file finder that I can use to sort me MP3s out?

    I appreciate any help.
Please avoid telling me to use google - I tried and found a bunch - just want some recommendations before I install a bunch and use trial and error.

You could use a CRC/Hash checker to generate checksums and compare them.

if mp3's are made with different apps then they will most likely have different check sums.

Should only be a problem with the MP3's you've made your self. Downloaded ones you should have logged since most cost money if done legally.
fsum -jnc -r *.* > filelist
    sort filelist -o filelist.txt
then parse the file for duplicates.

Thanks for that but was looking for something a little more straightforward and user friendly with hopefully a GUI.

Just want it to go by filenames and sizes and give me an option to remove the multiples.

There are Brazillians of duplicate finders, but very few actually check the contents of the files. Also would be nice to specify which folders don't get cleaned eg: program files / windows / live data and the precedense of removal based on the folder it's in. Put temp at the bottom of the list.

Haven't seen an app that does all that so I treat most of them as being dangerous and not much of an improvement of just searching your HDD for files over 9999 KB and sorting by Size and manually deleting duplicates you recognise.
