Well I could have been brutally PC but sod that.

Yes people I need help in finding jeans for myself, the weight has pilled on and I am now looking for 38" waist size - possibly even brushing 40 (egad, shock, horror)

So does anyone know anywhere in Dublin, that does cater for the larger man - prefer to spend my money on quality rather pieces of crap that will fall apart

You know, pretty much anywhere stocks those sizes. They are certainly not as uncommon as you think. I used to be a 34, went up to a 40, embarassing, but nonetheless had no problem finding any trousers. (I'm now back at 36 so its not so bad :o )

maybe so but the problem is I tried say Dunnes (several shops) and while some of them do have 38, none of them have a 40 - which I do need to try

Thats quite strange I must say. While people might think 40 is huge - its not really in reality. I mean its not ideal obviously, its overweight but not excessive.

I found Dunnes had any amount of that size, as did Pennys. I'd really say just try a different Dunnes or something, because beleive me, they are certainly not rare!

Have you tried the specialist shops?

Tisn't too big at all, but it might be less hastle finding sizes in a shop like that.

There's a place in Goatstown called Mr. Big n Tall.
Been there years so must have decent enough stuff.

    Found their website http://www.mrbigmenswear.com/default.asp?cookiecheck=yes& .

what about mrs.big? are there any shops that sell clothes for the larger women too?
I went to one once and all the clothes looked to be styled for senior citizens...there has to be a shop somewhere in dublin that sells fashionable clothes for the larger girls?

well dorothy perkins are now doing up a size 22 and are great for jeans, suits and basics.
Evans (yes EVANS lol) have some really nice stuff in at the mo including waistcoats and all other stuff u'd find anywhere else.
H&M do up to a 20 in some stuff but their 20 is supposed to be like a normal 16.
Dunnes now seem to do a 20-22 in some tops aswell...

oh and marks and spencers are great for plain coloured tops they have them for €11 or €19 for 2... in a round or a v-neck and up to a 22
