    Hi

Has anyone got one of these Gameboy Micros? And more importantly are they any good?

I'm not interested in a PSP or DS - I just want a cheap and small device to play games on from time to time. I don't really care much about graphics either.

Anyone recommend any games for it? (not RPGs)

Also what websites can I get more details on games/reviews etc...

I haven't got one but they are shecksey. But if you are going to stump up for a micro remember that it's not much more expensive than a ds. Anyway, some quick recommendations,

    Metroid Fusion
    Metroid Zero Mission
    Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
    Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
    Astroboy: Omega Factor
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
    Wario Ware Inc
    Wario Ware: Twisted
    Advance Wars
    Advance Wars 2

    To add to that list:

Fire Emblem 1+2 (It might seem like an RPG but it's a fantasy Advance Wars thats just as good)
    Gunstar Super Heroes
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (Zelda isn't an RPG, more like a top down Metroid)
    Mario Kart
    F-Zero

www.ign.com would have a decent database of reviews.

I like to use metacritic to see what reviews are out there.... (pay attention to the all time high scores on the right).

Even if you don't want a DS, I'd get an SP it's basically the same thing but the micro has what looks like a ridiculously small screen which would be useless!

The screen on the Micro is much, much sharper than the screen on the GBA SP though. Much nicer. TBH, I'd still go for a DS over either, it's not *that* much more expensive, the screens are better than the SP, plus more choice of games.

id wait till the ds gets rereleased with better screens the micro is ok but you can get a sp cheaper and then not worry about scratching the screen.

in the long run you would be better of getting a ds

I have both and prefer the micro for portablity. So much easy to carry about then the ds.

But the DS is a better system when you consider price and range of games.

    BUY BOTH!!

What kind of prices are micros and DS' going for these days?

hmmm, thanks. I'm still keen on the micro but then maybe I'm thinking to myself I perhaps I should just go for a proper console given that the games for GB are almost as expensive

I'm buying me a DS with Mariokart straight after ye Christmas but my girlfriend has got herself a micro and loves it more than anything (yes... I include me...).

The SP has been rereleased with a backlit (instead of front lit) screen that is as good as the Micro's (only larger, obviously). It also has the necessary ports for if you ever want to connect your SP to another GBA, a Gamecube, a PC, etc., without needing to buy an additional e10 adapter dongle.

Gave a GB Micro to my gf this Xmas. Have a PSP myself..
But must admit that I really like the Micro.. so sleek.. so tiny.. but what a screen!! It totally blew me of the chair.. Crisp Clear picture and colours.
Since this was her first GB in 9 years.. I went for the micro.. the backwards comp. didnt really care any more.

I would def. rec. the Micro to anyone who want a GB that they can bring with them at all times. The headphone connector is a standard so no need for a adaptor.
It fits right in your jeans pocket. Smaller than my SE K700.

    Just wanted to give opinion.

I've been told that micro games are almost as expensive for a proper console like PS2 - that's kinda put me off completely

I saw the Micro going in HMV Swords for about €105, that may have been with games... not sure. The DS goes for a bit more, anyone?

Micro games are just GBA games, Gamestop on Henry Street was offloading loads of their GBA stock the last time i was in.

Yes, I know, I still haven't got round to getting a micro. Basically if I did buy one am I effectively buying something that people have stopped developing for?
