When you sign anything,is it the law that you have to sign your actual name?
Would i be able to sign things with my nickname for example, but as long as i used that for everything i sign,Would it be legal?

You can sign anything you want, or sign lots of different things for different documents or just put an X or a scribble. As long as you yourself can testify that you made the mark its legal. (and in some cases it must be witnessed).

Might come and bite you on the ass should you ever need to prove something in court using signature evidence.

What annoys me is banks wanting a signature when lodging money. All I will do is a scribble for them. F'em

For the purposes of some documents (marriage certs, birth certs etc), you may need to prove that it is your normal signature. For legal documents where you are asked to print your name in block letters, you must use your legal name or a registered pseudonym.

You can sign your will with an X. Again the important thing isn't the kind of mark you made, it's that people saw you make it.

With many documents, knowingly signing them with a false name could be considered fraud.

Then again, if you really want to go around signing things with your nickname, you're probably too young to sign anything of importance anyway :)

i signed in a jewelers last year, with a complete scribble, seriously it didnt look like anything (damn cold hands) and the cashier said she couldnt accept that signature, so on the phone to the bank i went and handed the mobile over to her and the lad told her that she should know that if she witness's you putting pen to paper that authorises her to finish the transaction.

So for the laugh, ill have to find a shop without chip and pin and sign sparky :D
