Problem installing sky plus due to isdn line

We currently have a basic Sky box.
We've been trying to upgrade to Sky Plus and also get 2 mulitroom boxes installed but today we were told this is a problem as we have an isdn line(The boxes must be connected to a phoneline). At first Sky said it couldn't be done but then they said it could if we fit an asdl filter on the line. When we rang to order the Sky Plus box and the other 2 boxes this wasn't mentioned at all.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this normal if you have an ISDN line??

get a hispeed eircom isdn box instead of the old style usually with telecom eireann logo variant and you get 2 analogue ports with it (hint, let the one you have develop 'a fault' somehow)

if it sez hispeed on the front then look underneath

Yeah, if it's the standard eircom Plug and Play ISDN box, then you shouldn't have an issue. I had ISDN at the parents home, and connecting Sky to it wasn't an issue.

An ADSL filter won't do anything for ISDN.

If you have no sockets for a regular phone you need a POTS adaptor. You can get one that connects to ISDN RJ45 connector (8 pin) and has four ordinary phone sockets. The unit does naerly everything a PABX does. About 150 Euro.

What kind of phone do you have? Does it have normal connector (6way with 2 or 4 pins used = RJ11) or fatter PC LAN type (8way all pins connected, RJ45).

some of the eircom ISDN boxes have two digital and two analogue ports. connect your sky+ box to one of the analogue ports.

an ADSL filter is for broadband enabled lines, not ISDN.
