I need a job over the Christmas holidays. I've been looking at this website and it turns out some chuggers get paid nearly €300 a week to chug! The question is should I or shoudn't I? Would you?

All the money you earn can go to the charity... but the charity just pays the agency on amount earned / beforehand.

Yes I always wondered why anyone would resort to WRECKING people's heads on the streets for crap money. I'm not a violent person but I've thought about attacking one of these many times, they really annoy me with their hippy clothes and hair and those stupid big smiles and some of them start dancing around in front of you. I'm surprised none of them have been seriously assaulted yet, but if that's what it takes to stop this business than so be it. They used to have them in Edinburgh but they made it illegal, why can't they do it here?

Anyways, check out Night Pack work at your local supermarket. Honest work, decent money and with none of the hassle from customers like in the daytime.

There has to be another way..as annoying as we find them can you actually imagine doing that work for 8 hours a day. I dont care what the website says, you may not be paid on commission but if you aren't getting people signed up on a pretty regular basis i wouldnt say you would last very long in the job. How many people can be left to sign up at this point at this rate the only people left in the city will be chuggers and metro/herald am people. Or are they one and the same *strokes chin*

Don't do it. Apart from being incredibly annoying, It's bloody freezing out. It's shocking how quickly you lose feeling in your fingers in this weather, and then it hurts when you're warming up again. Get a warm job indoors with no heavy lifting.

Nearly €300 a week eh? I'd say look elsewhere for a chugger job. http://www.jobs.ie/ApplyForJob.aspx?Id=207109 for example pays €325 a week. I've seen the jobs advertised for as much as €11 an hour. Shockin. :eek:

I volunteered (well I didn't really volunteer, I'm in TY and the teacher volunteeres the class) last Friday to sell Santa bears for the CRC and it was pretty good. As long as you have a mate with you, it's kinda fun. And it helps to know that you're helping a good cause.
I'd definatly go for it.

That's different though. You're volunteering, chuggers aren't. Chuggers are making a fair bit of cash out of it.

i've got many skeletons in my closet, but darn, my time as a chugger(about 3 hours) is a massive bone of contention in my past( exuse ****e pun ) nevermind the job, the mentality of fellow chuggers was just too much to take. if theres one thing i hate, its ****n rich kid hippies working for a charity for 13 euros an hour....they supplement their scraggy looks by reading books like "how to save the world" or some such bollox....what a pot of piss...unless you are an innately annoying individual, with fague leftist political views and an irregular washing regime, i'd give it a miss.....................

I keep meaning to have some fun with these guys, like waffling inconsistently for as long as possible, untill they get fed up of listening to me. Think how many people I can save from being annoyed by that person if I did that? Anyway, as much as I keep meaning to do it, the second I see them I'm overcome with rage, and I just want to hit them.

Would anyone actually like to try and join me one day, and try and accost as many of these people as possible? I think this kind of activism would work a treat to combat those god damned ****ing chuggers.
