Right im working for a very well known pub in south dublin and have been for just over 4 months, at the beginning they werent very friendly but i didnt mind that. Its only over the past few weeks that ive been getting really pist off with them. Usually id work till about 3 in the morning, and they seem to have a rule where they dont pay part time bar men after 2, also the other night they sprung an extra hour on everyone (we were threr till 4 and didnt stop serving till 1:30) with out notice, now i find that i dont get any christmas pay either. Also when i started i didnt get paid for the first 7 weeks! they claimed they lost my contract (with account details). What ya reckon would i find much beeter out there before new years or should i stick it out. Im on €9 by the way, not much for barwork especially in this busy pub.

ditch them ur worth more than that. i used to be a barman. best payers i ever found was mcgowan's of broadstone. this was a few years back and they paid me 13 punts an hour for part time work, couldnt go wrong with that.worth checking out anyway.

Does this pub have a thatched roof and at the bottom of a hill? If so get out as fast as you can!!! Ask about holiday pay just to annoy them first....

Just did a quick search to find more info on owner of this establishment.... found a pickle of a quote you might like:
At one point in the documentary Mellon says he is worried that Ireland is becoming a selfish country.

too late methinks going on your experience...
Everything that has happened sounds it's in the remit of legality however, but if you think it's a downward spiral, get out and find somewhere that treats you better.

    Best of luck.
