    THANK YOU!!

In all seriousness I want to thank a few people for their help yesterday. Amp/Adam as ever ended up being my cohort and did much of the work (as I ground my way to the final table), SSF would be a lot smaller without him.
Also Oscar for "loaning" me his tournie and covering for Adam occasionally! Thanks to everyone who turned up, it was terrific to see so many people and all having a good time. I didn't get one complaint from anyone yesterday.
Thanks to BigDragon for running the last longest book, which was a good laugh (O'Callaigh... you pick *this* tournie not to win ?!) and to all those people who donated cash. You know who you are.
More thanks to the people who dealt for the tables particularly Nigel who got knocked out (along with our dealer) by me and who then jumped in and dealt the remainder of the tournie. Very kind and a good sport too, that earned him a ticket to the Guinness Storehouse and a tip from me and the other big cash winners. Thanks Nigel!

Thank to the club too for the space and equipment.

I know I've forgotten someone, if thats you then thank you :p

The final take for the event was over 1700 euro which is phenomenal. Thank you all very much.

    DeV.

Has anyone seen my Teddy? He never made it home last night. He has done this before but usually turns up with the milkman and a lame excuse.

I think Teddy was pissed off after Ionapaul taking all his chips. Apparently J9 is his favourite hand and he was waiting for it all night, but it just couldn't crack Paul's eights...

He wanted to drown his sorrows in the pub but Tom wouldn't let him go.

Your teddy was a little money grubbing slut and jumped ship to the winning side of Antesup. oh, and he has a *foul* mouth on him. Wouldnt stop all the way home about how RoryC was an "outdrawing MegaMuppet...." :)

great tourney Tom and the rest...you all played a blinder. And the players created a top atmosphere,if only all tournament's could be like this.

Mike....did you have a sophisticated plan worked out for when to go all in...?

I did but something went wrong with the training and Teddy mis-read his hand. However Ionapaul made a bad call with just 88. Would you call someone who hasn't played a hand for 2 hours with just 88?

The Fitz won through sheer numbers. FOS/Boards had 1st/2nd though so we fought hard for it. I should have evened the teams but there was a lot to do at the start.

Every time I found a playable hand roryc would pick up roughly 932 BB's and announce raise!!! LOL..

One of those tournies where the deck had a little surprise lurking for me in most of the pots I played in..

I think I won one shown down with a pair of 5's on a A99Q5 board. I had thrown my cards in when i missed my flush only for my opponent to show T high.. and a missed flush draw too!

that was a great fold alright. In my last hand when I had the KK against your AA rory and Tom had AQ, the minute you flat called the big blind from UTG, I thought, big hand. Course when I looked at my kings, I completely forgot about my original thoughts and went all in. There had been three limpers and I was just happy to pick up what was in the pot. When Tom thought for so long I knew I was ahead, but the speed that your chips went in spelled doom

thoroughly enjoyed the day and there was some great poker played by lots of players. The standard is certainly getting higher and there are lots of good young players around who aren't afraid to mix it up.

btw, JP gets the play of the day. Raised it UTG with the hammer, hits his two pair on the flop, gets all his chips in and gets dogged by QQ on the river.

I'd just like to echo what everyone else has said. Great game and great atmosphere and thanks for organising DeV. Nice to see the charity made so much from it. Very ul at the end too. I thought that chair wasn't going to survive the abuse ;)

    Congrats Rory.

I'd also like to thank Amp for the generous donation of his stack :D It was also nice to put faces to names and get to have a pint with the few of you that were in Maguires.

I agree, very enjoyable tournie, even if I did give Rory most of my chips with my AK vs KK. Too many limpers made me raise a tad to high not to call the all in after the flop.

    wp Rory.

I was actually genuinely chuffed that the day had gone so well and the charity had made a stack that initially I didn't mind the outdraw but then it kinda sank in that it was over and my comeback was ended! lol
Savage game, I enjoyed every minute of it. Ironic innit that the two players who are reknowned for bad beats end up heads up for it with an ending like that. Rory did play very well all night to be fair to him. I'm just glad you were all there to see it so I can whinge for YEARS AND YEARS ABOUT IT!!! :)

That lad who came third (sorry don't know his name) was lucky he lasted through the first hour as well. The final table must have been full of outdrawing megamuppets :v: :v:

Well I was down to 1 BB when it was 800/1500 so I was blessed to even BE at the final table. Not to mention rivering Paddy when he had me covered TTvs33 all in preflop. I was also very unlucky a few times but after that I came out firing and played like every pot was a bonus. Rory will confirm I actually had one arm of my coat on and I was about to phone Karl to get a pint stuck on for me when the 3 hit on the river!
