Large Laptop HDD

Okay I have an Inspiron 1200 and it currently has an 30GB HDD.

Now I am looking to put a 100 GB + HDD into it.

Is there limitations in regards to what capcity it will take and can 250 GB HDD's be got.

I have updated the BIOS to A06 the most recent but cannot find anything on the Dell Website about Size Limitations.

That Inspiron should be recent enough to support a 100GB drive.

No, there are no 2.5" 250GB drives yet. Largest I think is the 100GB.
So you'd have to use an external USB drive for any larger storage.

I think that your drive should be ATA not the newer SATA. Though you should check.

If you just want storage, an external 3.5" drive is the way to go.
Otherwise, 100-120gb is the biggest hdd you'll get but they really arent cheap.
