    Hi There,

Got a couple of blood blisters on my toes 2 weeks ago after playing a game of soccer in bad socks/boots. They are still there, though the skin around them is thick enough so that they dont burst when playing now. Should i pierce them with a needle or let them be?

    thanks.

It is OK to ask what causes "blood blisters", it is NOT OK and contravenes the charter to ask how they should be medically managed.

What you are describing sounds like small bruises under the skin, because your feet and hands have thicker skin, then it cannot cause a rise in the skin like a normal bruise, but just darkly discolours your skin at the site it occurs. Its the same if you hit your nail with a hammer, a small, well contained, intensely sore bruise develops under your nail.

You can also get then from nut crackers  , sorta like a snakebite, two small ones close together. They sorted themselves out after a week, looking like little tattos for most of that time.
