Is there anywhere I could compare my own site's stats to other sites from Ireland ?

Or does no one publish stats or are all websites stats just pure random numbers ..

    TIA

Well the Neilsen stats that are thrown around are rubbish since they are just based on a small set of monitored internet users. The ABC stats, which some larger sites have are somewhat more reliable but you need to have millions of page impressions per month and a large budget for them. Then there are the free webstats services. Sometimes these free webstats are posted on the websites. Also those Alexa ratings are junk - again they are based on the set of users who have the Alexa toolbar installed on their browser.

Then there are the search engines - some webstats include search engine page impressions as "users" in order to inflate the numbers.

Just concentrate on building the audience for your own website and forget about how the others are doing.
