Hi, has anyone been here (or any other Curves)? The reviews I have read of Curves in general tend to be one extreme or the other. I am not a fan of exercise, but nor am I a fan of the extra weight that I am currently carrying...I really do not relish the thought of "corporate" gyms like Westwood and thought that Curves might be a good way to get started (beats sitting on the couch at night). Any thoughts/advice?

my mother goes to curves and thinks its great-she lost fair bit fat since starting last january but i think curves is more for middle aged women.
remember you diet is the most important thing
if you have a bike go cycling on the long cycle path from westwood to howth and back every night and you'll loose a lot of weight!
if your in your twenties/thirties i think your better off in a regular gym as in curves there arent many/or any cardio machines and you cant increase the resistance on the weights machines they use so after a few months it becomes easy to do the class and when it becomes easy you wont loose any more weight

from me: i think it is bad. staff knowledge on training, nutrition, etc
from women/girls i know who used to frequent the place: bad. results wise it was lacking. BUT for very self conscious women who wont go near a gym it is a great start.

its better than nothing but once the self conscious gym thing is over MOVE ON to another better gym.
