    They all seem to be much of a muchness so has anyone here got first hand experience of a particular model they can pass on?

    I bought a Sony dcr hc30e around a year ago and it's been extremely reliable and easy to use.
    Although I am selling it due to my insurance money being at a minimum.

    Im in the same boat - looked up a number of them and the Sony DCR HC42E seems to be getting decent reviews - worth a look! Think thats the one I'm gonna go for... just google it for all the reviews.

    Check this one outIt's a 3CCD chip, which is the minimum you want for decent videoquality shooting. I'm think of getting it myself, if the budget stretches that far.
