I was in town last night trying to find a taxi with my friends on O'Connell street at about 3 o'clock when we heard this huge bang. It turned out someone had managed to crash their car into the spire! I mean thats quite an achievement considering they have bollards all around it protecting it and also the fact that driver was mid sixties and plastered. They had to get the firebrigade to cut him out. But the funniest thing was that, one garda who ran to scene and obviously a genius tested the spire with his hands just to make sure it wouldnt fall over???:D
