Would you join the clergy if celibacy wasn't a rule?

The amount of people joining the priesthood is very small these days and I was wondering why this is. My opinion is that with sex being such a big part of people's lives these days, people don't want to abstain from it.
If the church's rule on celibacy was removed, would you consider joining the preisthood? And if you still wouldn't, why not?

If I could still have sex, and I didn't have to believe the Jesus bull**** (i.e. could just be spiritual or something like that), I'd consider it. I have a big ego so being the Pope would be cool. I'd become an evil Pope, starting wars and getting hookers pregnant.

nope. if i wanted to make religion my calling in life, i could happily abstain.
i don't reckon the abstinence is the leading factor, i reckon the "child molester" label that is getting slapped on every member of the clergy lately is the major deterrent.

for the first thousand years of the church celibacy wasnt necessary,for the last thousand it has. i am not a bit religous but a priest gets a free gaff car etc! and if you could have a missus! i'd pretend to be religous for the rest of my life!

I think the church need to improve their image a bit. If they started an ad campaign that promised free light sabers or something and made priests out to be more like Jedi's then it I'd sure as hell sign up.

As for me, I think I'm too much of a sinner to become a priest, and don't really think I have that calling, so no.
