    Well, any combination bringing your system to 1gb ram is better than 512mb. Getting quality ram improves it again then...

    You would see a big improvement I think. Doubling your memory makes a big difference. You might want to upgrade your CPU as well, if you see stuttering on screen while your playing fast paced games like battlefield 2. Loading times are improved by adding more memory, but stuttering can be caused both by a lack of memory and a bottlenecked CPU.
