    Hi All,

Am thinking of going to leopordstown ( never been) on the 27th december travelling up by train from the deep south!!!!
Train should be in to hueston around 10am.

Whats the easiest way to get to leopordstown and the quickest.
Somebody said a taxi would be around 40 euro!!
Also read something about buses going from bus arus around 11am.
I also would need to get back to hueston around 6pm.

Any travel help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Easiest and quickest way would be a taxi but alas, not the cheapest.

Right outside Heuston, you can get a Luas to the city centre where you can:
    1) go to Busaras to get one of the special buses to the course
    2) get a regular Dublin Bus which goes near the course (I think the 46A is best, leaves you with about a 15 minute walk), or
    3) walk the 10/15 minutes to the other Luas line on Stephen's Green which will bring you to Sandyford, which is itself a 15 minute walk to the course or there are free shuttle buses from there to it.

Whichever way, you'd be fine timewise for getting there and back.

Just cross your fingers that there are no late-morning inspections on the track!

I'd check the Bus Eireann routes as well, you might get lucky and have a bus that goes from Waterford to Wicklow and would have to pass quite close to Leopardstown on the way.

Otherwise you'll have to go with Crumbs advice and use the world class integrated public transport system. You could get also cab from Hueston to Stephens green and get on to the Luas there, it would only cost a few quid and would cut out a lot of the hassle.

Crumbs is on the mark with his advice. The easiest is to get the luas outside the door of heuston station to busarus and the special leopardstown bus service leaves busarus at 11am & 11.20am each day returning at 4pm & 4.20pm 26th – 28th other than that check out whos reading the racing pages on the train and join up for a taxi !

A good contingency is the 46A; it's v regular, so should be reasonably regular on the 27th and brings out about 15mins walk away up Brewery Road.
