Hi,
I'm looking for a christmas present for my mother. She mentioned that a woman that she knows got this as a present a couple of years ago and that she would like it also.

She said it's a day where you get your make-up done and then get a photograph done as well as a facial. I contacted the woman that she was talking about and she said it was about 10 years ago that she got it done and it was in a place called 'Cover Story' beside Laura Ashley on Grafton St.

Does anybody know if this is still here or if there is somewhere else you can get this done?

Fashion/Appearance maybe? There are a few of these around. The initial payment covers the make-over/make-up/etc and they do a photo shoot. Then they charge quite a bit for the pictures, as any professional photographer would, but some of them are more up front about the fact. If you're giving it as a present, make sure you include a few pictures in the initial booking and bank on needing nice mounting and frames, etc, else you're just giving her a bill. She's hardly not going to want the prints.

(I'm not an expert or even interested, just know someone who did one of these a few years ago)

Cover shots were all about soft focus and were horrid. Mellatraversphotography.com is where to go. she's a top fashion photographer and my sisters and i had a blast having our photos done. she's based in an amazing georgian apartment in Monkstown overlooking the sea, felt like i was having a spa treatment it was so relaxing and fun, she was able to get in a make up artist that works with her for fashion covers. was such a laugh, you've got to give her a try. cost was €500.00, not cheap but excellent- worth every penny, we look like such hotties in the photos
