Righto then, I need to buy a laptop and am fairly flexible as to what I need. I dont want to spend a fortune raound the 1500 mark. I'l be using it for a keep an eye on my web based business. Mainly email, browsing, accounts and loads of high res image editing. It needs to be reliable with a good back up service and warranty, decent battery, wireless, bluetooth preferable but I've a dongle anyway, and compatable with nokia 3G phones.
At the mo I'm looking at the Apple 12" powerbook for 1300 :) 14"iBook for 1100 and the toshiba M70.
Would also be nice to play Diablo 2 though:D

where you getting a 12" powerbook for that price? apple ireland were offering me 1500 with a student discount?

based on your requirements, id say go with the mac, great battery life, very reliable and (apparently) great for image editing, plus they come with a lot as standard, such as bluetooth and g standard wireless, plenty of ram, good hd, dvd burner....

not at all - if you're doing proper photo editing no less than 15"

can do what i need with image editing on 12" fine I even went away and got a loan of one just to be sure, ya see I won't be doing a whole lot of editing so system specs are more important for me, hard to explain without telling what I'm doing, but....sssshhh :p it's a secret, I let you know as I can:D

That's a toughie between the 14" iBook and the 12" PowerBook, but I'd go for the PowerBook.

go for the iBook the advantages of the powerbook are overrated IMO.

Get the minimum RAM from Apple, buy the extra RAM from www.shop4memory.com and save a fair wad of cash.

1024x768 on the 12" may not be enough for you photo needs, I would say go for a 14" unless portability is a major issue
