    Evening all,

Just got my htpc up and running but having a few problems with the picture quality.

Im using the standard NTL cable package (no stb) to get it going but i will be hooking it up the stb soon.

I tried using powerdvd as a decoder but i couldnt get any picture at all.
So i installed the trial nvidia encoder but the picture is poor. very poor.

The guide has no info on any stations. No staion name either.

Been browsing thegreenbutton and avsfforums all eveing but no joy.

I've tried the latest hauppage drivers also but stilll no luck.

Thegfx card is 6800gt if that helps. But Im pretty sure its a capture/decoder problem.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks
    Wavey.

in what way is it poor? Lots of noise? Blurred? Lots of artifacts?

maybe post a screenie if you can

Its a snowy picture, like it needs fine tuning.

I tried the little tv tuner app that i downloaded with the driverfrom the hauppage website and it can get a perfect picture by itself.
But in MCE the picture is crap.
So its not the the pvr500.

i have tried both nvida and powerdvd. no joy.
    Will post a screenie later

Should i be choosing Unmapped Analogue or Unmapped digital during mce setup?

I have the normal ntl sevice with out stb at the moment.
