Hi All, currently planning a 2 month trip for straight after Christmas Day, starting off in New Zealand for 3 weeks then moving up to Singapore from where I'll be backpacking my way anywhere & everywhere before I'm due back in sunny ole Oireland at the start of March. I've got New Zealand pretty much locked down as my brother lives there and has got a whole plethora of places to go, stay etc so I'd be more interested in peoples experiences from Singapore onwards. I'll be arriving there on the 23rd January and due to fly back from anywhere in the region on the 1st of March, currently got Bangkok as return airport as need to have a return ticket for customs on each border, easy to change that to another airport/country as it's fairly flexible. I'm on a budget, not extreme but not 4 star either, besides my tastes would be more beach hut style accomodation with waves lapping outside my door rather than a fancy hotel :) . Anyway as I've only managed to finally confirm my dates I'm just starting to look into it. So I'd be interested in anyones experiences in any of the following, Singapore (only planning currently max 2 days there so any suggestions on cheap decent accomodation), Malaysia (not sure quite how long I'll spend here as know very little about it, it does look like an amazing place though so suggestions on islands etc cool), Thailand (tourist mecca at this stage but any less known gems that have not been overrun by development, read Phuket), Cambodia (only place I know I'd really like to see here is Angkor Wat, any other suggestions appreciated). That's it for the moment, of course it may all end on the first little paradise isle I find in Malaysia but good to have options you know? :p

    Cheers guys
