Just back from the gym. Had a really fun workout and am feeling tip top. I try not to eat too much before I go as it make me feel sick after a certain amount of cardio. What I'm wondering is what is the best kind of food to eat when I get home. Now I'm not a hardcore gym goer and would not be into shakes or suppliments but am I better to eat fruit, fish, veg, some wholemeal bread....really unsure and would rather not reach for the digestives.

some carbs to replace glucose in your muscles-not too much though!- and some protein to repair your muscles ,eat say pasta or bread for carbs and egg whites or chicken or tuna or cheese for protein.if you do weights as well as cardio eat more protein and simple carbs like glucose/dextrose than if you didnt do weights.if your just doing cardio i presume its for fat loss? if so then try not eating too much after workout just a small snack if you've had your regular meals for the day already
