    the wicklow mountains..

stay off the wickow way and you'll have peace and quiet. The hills are flush with wildlife and huntable game. although you might wnat to check what is is season...

Try and get away from the djouce area as the woods are mainly conifers.
    enjoy.

Are there clubs that specialise in survival camping?
I'm real interested in it. I read loads of Ray Mears books.

    Killarney area, maybe:confused:

Phoenix Park. Stay away from big white buildings and Furry Glen. George's St. is good too.

Thanks for that guys, wicklow sounds like the best one so far, that or georges street ( but i 'd have to deal with those **** looking for donations to Bernardos all the times, so wicklow it is). THere no as such a club you can join, just a few of us that do It. I've gotten it down to a t making a long bow from Yew wood (or pine will do) and a bark strip. Its really great crack!

I love the idea of survival camping, and I'm a big Ray Mears fan. I've not really had a chance to do anything like it though, as I'm only finished school, but once I get a bit of independence, I'd love to do this at some stage. Might be a bit too nippy in Ireland, though! :o

I dont think you can just go around hunting wildlife in the wicklow mountains. What are you planning on hunting with? Those ferral goats are crazy - mind they dont eat you!

    Good point :)

Do you have any training in this? Were you in the scouts or anything? Go on any courses?

It sucks that you've gotta get permits and licences and all this sh.ite... Back in the day you'd just grab your machete and off ye went :p

Heard Oxegen qualified! Electric Picnic now, that'd be too soft hot showers etc. :D
