bought the aldi md 8800 last thursday and this is a great rig. did a rough pricing of the bits but gave up cause some of this stuff is not on the market. maybe because its OEM but the new BTX form factor and the hybrid tuner are hard to find the graphics card can't be found in nvidia. com thought its probably a 6600gt but with the vivo interface on the inside connected to scart and s-vidia outlets built into the back of the case. it's whisper quiet and the case is the best looking one i've ever seen, my wife would call it a little black number just plain black with a display on top. one neat thing is that it seems to have a linux media player connected to the sleep button so to play music or dvds etc. there is no need to boot up windows.. the tuner is a great idea, it's both a analogue and/or digital so won't have to upgrade when digital comes. also has a satellite card all in one. it comes bundled with cyberlink's homecinema which looks to be a MCE clone. problem is tuning the setup to work in ireland. i even loaded MCE as a second OS and while it found nearly everthing it couldnt scan for tv channels told me the card wouldnt work in ireland. obviously drivers. so anyone with experience of hybrid cards in ireland help would be welcome.

    Hi,

Are you sure you are using the Analog Aerial connection, and not the Digital or "DVB-T" Aerial connection?

I just bought a DVB-T USB Tuner, realized that it was "Free-to-air" we receive, and not "Freeview", (I need a DVB-S connections for that).

You could try some other software maybe?

Ok. looks like I'm answering my own question. but if anybody's having the same problem maybe this will help. first go to www.medion.co.uk drivers and updates. sign in with your s/n. on the bottom of the box. there is a nvidia one 81.84 also a new patch from powerquest. i'm using an ordinary aerial and a satellite dish so this won't apply to people with cable. My problem was with getting rte et. al. when it asks you what you are using don't put antenna choose cable. it then scans the uhf freqencies. still having problems mainly with twin tv.
