That was funny alright, but he handled it well. I'm not usually one of the 'young people's music' :), but they had a nice sound I thought. Good performance.

Anyone notice they had a problem with the jib-arm/crane camera for that night's show? It was locked in a fixed position for the whole night directed over the performance area. Clearly there was a fault with its mechanics that was discovered just before the show that resulted in them not being able to move it. They suspended a fixed camera at the back of over the audience as some sort of consolation to take wides of the studio instead.
Made for some very dodgy vision mixing through the night....no change there then :D

    Ehhhhhhhh...no.

But they had a major problem with the content though. It was one of the lamest LLS ever.

I for one, have stopped watching Plank's Circus of Banality. It's only a matter of months before Bill Cullen realises that he's sinking millions into a sinking ship.

Ah come on, David McSavage was pretty good in fairness.

Are you serious? I actually had a big row with my dad because he wouldn't switch over when this fool was on. I'm not one to get offended easily but I honestly think I might have to be restrained from confronting the bloke next time I see him in town. His brand of humour has the potential to set stand-up comedy back 20-30 years. I wish him nothing but continued failure.

I find him refreshingly honest for the most part, though some of his stuff goes unnecessarily over the line - as if just to cause scandal.
Also some of his jokes he's used word for word on the Late Late in the past - couldn't believe it when he started churning out the accent ones again.

Overall though I find him funny - most bizarre to see him introducing the Toy Show of all programmes tonight

Ehhhhh no. There was a 'famous' thread on here lambasting his obvious lack of talent. It was suspected that the one person sticking up for him was actually McSavage himself!

Personally, I think that he must be the Late Late's 'emergency' guest to be used when the star-turn scheduled for the end of the show doesn't turn up. Telefis will correct me on this I'm sure!

Dont be surprised that he pulled a few strings , is'nt he Tubridys cousin and the prodigal son of the andrews political clan?

    Yep.
I think McSavage's downfall his his lack of material - he's stuck in a rut of accents and observational humour of only certain kinds of people.

For the most part though I find him hilarious on the Late Late (suppose cause he's confined to 15-18 mins). He's been on three times now (four including last Friday). He's so very conscious of the environment he is in, who's watching, the whole 'Pat thing' :), and the format he's working with - all which he plays to his advantage. When he says he and his friends love when Pat Kenny laughs, I think this shows how perceptive he is; he touches on common perceptions very well.

And to be fair he always goes down a storrm with the studio audience, and manages to pull the ratings up everytime he's on - then again most comedy tends to.

Wrong. He was booked for it since I interviewed him last month. The reason he's on so often is because he's generally also the warm up act for the studio audience before the LLS.
