Can i buy laptop battery for dell computer but not made by dell??

    It may sound like a silly question but i really dont know. My problem is im extremely annoyed with Dell and really dont want to go and purchase off them? So im wondering if anyone else makes laptop battery (latitude d500) that will work??

    Generally the batteries are made by only the manufacturers, but you should be able to purchase a dell battery from someone else, have a look on ebay, or google for it, should find quite a few cheap suppliers

    Oh yeah iv found loads of places i can purchase dell batteries, other then from Dell. But ultimitely thats exactly the same thing. Also not mad into the idea of Ebay, (god i sound like a technophobe there) simply because Id prefer to deal with a company.

    I agree with daywalker, just get one on Ebay or something similar.

    you are making things complicated for yourself trying to find a
    generic version of a dell battery.

    Ebay is fine, paypal cover purchases up to 500euro or more I think
    so if the seller tires to screw you, then paypal will deal with him
    but if you buy from someone with a good sellers rating then
    you will have no problem.
