Mario Kart DS: Slow at connecting

How long does it take on average for people to find people to race against? I can often wait minutes and sometime when I find people they drop off again. Rivals seems to be the quickest to connect. I've opened all the ports mario kart requires and my wireless router (Netgear WPN824) is working perfectly with it. I've also tried at several times of the day with no difference,
Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah it can take some time, i've had a few no shows but usually get a few racers.

Whats a pain in the arse is when you're on the last race and winning the opponents will quit?? dunno why, I was thinking they want to keep good stats or something?

that happens to me about 70% of the time.. its annoying... then the game freezes and you gotta start again! found a few ppl to quit just when they realised they couldnt win.... so annoying!!!:v:

It takes time to connect sure, but I wouldn't really mind too much. Rivals is fastest for you? I normally get Worldwide in seconds. When people disconnect in 2 Player races it's annoying. I wonder if they realise disconnecting means you lose anyway, but the other person (the person who didn't disconnect) doesn't get a win (unless they fixed it now).

I never get a race any of the options in seconds. I can get a race with more than one person a good few times but it might take a few tries to have a 4 player game. Do any ports have to be opened in the router before running mario kart? I have all the ones the nintendo site recommends. I have not got the chance to try any other router. Although my connection from my ds must be ok as it has full signal and can always connect to the service so this leads me to believe that it's some setting that might be wrong.

Anyone have any idea why the game keeps freezing on the last race when playing on line? I thought it was others quitting but I've never been able to finish. Well?

Just tried to play 10 times there, every one froze on the last race, why do people keep quitting??

It is SOOOO!! annoying.

When mine freezes occasionally, the error code 94030 comes up. I've checked it on the Nintendo site, and they suggest that this may be caused by interference, though I doubt it in my case.

It often takes me like 60 seconds to find four players, which is irritating. I got it on release week in the US, though, and I thought that if I gave it time for others to buy the game, it'd be better, but it doesn't seem to be

I've never ever had it crash or freeze though.

Anyone want to start a new thread with rival codes so that the boardsies can play together?

I'll post mine when I get home tonight.

edit: nevermind, i just found the thread on that topic. Ha, i think i saw that when i scanned the list of topics, but didn't register that MKDS meant mario kart
