I'd recommend it alright, very cool.
Going to see them when they come over next month and play the TBMC. it'll be a helluva gig!

I'm not their biggest fan and I don't know why. I probabaly would like them if I listened to the album but none of their singles have done it for me so far.

the way the music magazines went about slavering over them you'd think they were the greatest thing since the beatles. it's good stuff though, they do seem to have the tunes. better stuff out there though, arctic monkeys for instance

I really like them good groove to their tunes, whats the capacity of the TBMC anyway? I missed out on a ticket.

I know loadsa people that couldn't get tickets for that gig, I'm glad I jumped the gun and got tickets despite only hearing one song. Its only like a capacity of 700 or something, I think.

I play 'living for the weekend' every friday afternoon in work, such an uplifting tune. I like em, cos their songs are real, and beyond catchy.

If anyone does end up with a spare ticket for this, gimme a shout please

the music is good enough i suppose but the lyrics are terrible, nothing to rant or rave about anyway IMO. The more i listen to that album the more ordinary i find it, but thats typical of my opinion of 4 peice rock bands anyway = Done and Dusted to death, you need to be uber-original to get my attention nowadays and i don't think Hard-Fi are doing anything cutting edge or anything different from about a dozen bands who have emerged to the forefront of indie music in the past 18 months or so. I think there is probably about 4 songs on the album i like but the rest are fairly ordinary.

Don't think they're really about uber-originality, they just make real songs about real life and that's fine by me.

It's probably the most consistent listen above most of the albums I've bought this year.

There's a great dubby cover of Seven Nation Army on the Hard To Beat single if you ever come across it. Think they play it in their live sets as well.

Just saw these guys for the first time on the telly with Cash Machine.

"I try to phone a friend
    My credit's in the red
I try to skip the fare
    Ticket inspector's there"

    God they're awful.

    "I scratch a living, it ain't easy
    You know it's a drag
I'm always paying, never make it
    But you can't look back
I wonder if I'll ever get
To where I want to be
    Better believe it
I'm working for the cash machine"

I like these lyrics, its got a message about everyday life, its got a refreshing gritty reality to it, we are all working for the cash machine.

    "What am I gonna do
    My girlfriend's test turned blue
We tried to play it safe
That night we could not wait"

This is real not some waffle ****e that so many other "cooler" songs about love......

there is another lyric that goes something like
"i got my hair just right.....i might go out tonight"

    NOW! lads. Com'on!
i'll say again that the music isn't bad, but the lyrics.....ahh jasus the lyrics!
