    im in oz at the moment on a 3 month holiday visa.trouble is we're running out of money and need to work-but we've no work visas. we'll arrive in sydney next week,spending a few weeks there & was wondering how difficult itll be to get some work without a visa.has anyone done it or is it impossible?

    Hi eva, I just got this info from Dep't of Immigration website..... www.dimia.gov.au

    It states

    If you are in Australia on a visa other than a working holiday visa and wish to apply for one, you are not eligible to apply. You must be outside Australia at the time of lodgement and grant of a working holiday visa.

    Also, if you have previously entered Australia on a working holiday visa, you cannot apply for a second working holiday visa.


    I am not sure if this answers your questions.....I am Australian so have never had to worry about these issues.......

    Edited to say, I am sure there are places that would employ you without a work visa, it would be cash in hand.......but I hear that it is not happening that often anymore as Immigration is on the warpath!!!!!!!!!!!!
    And the pay would be total crap, cos they know that you are doing things 'underneath the radar'
