I was thinking of maybe setting one up?

Do you think it would work?

If you are interested

1. PM me with the title "Secret Santa" or "I'm In"

2. Write your Full name and User Name

3. Write your address

4.A list of likes and dislikes/amazon wishlist(idea stolen from tusky:P)if youre a picky bugger:P

5. Lastly, you will get a pm by me some time soon telling you who your person is along with their user name and address.

If this works

I think the concept is good. Perhaps only let people sign up though who have a recognised status i.e. we wouldn't want a Nov 05 member with 5 posts entrusted to our presents

I think it might be an idea to only let users here at least a year do it and also the people who dont send there person a pressie has to be named and shamed and also people should stick in the pm what there into , btw carpo Ill give ya a hand setting it up if ya want.

Well for example Im on here a good while an Id be purty embaressed if I got named an shamed for not sending someone there secret santa present whereas someone who rarely logs in wouldnt have the same incentive to send there person something because they mightened care if there named an shamed.

i can lend a hand if necessary, collecting info and at the end of a certain date all the handlers will send each other the collected names and address's to run over into one big list.
Then do the maths on matching up.

I organised one of these last year and it worked really well. G'luck with it. I would advice having well known members of boards.ie set it up though...or at least people who have been here a couple of years. Dont want someone running off with all your presents!

I think it's a good idea. Last year, we posted our likes and dislikes, so the other person had an idea of what to get. I'm in if it's happening.

Did this last year. Would/will do it again.
Don't feel like giving my details to someone who's here just a few months though. I hope this doesn't make me seem like a snob/prat/whatever - I know we were all newbies once.

Plus I think the rules should be very clear before people sign up to it (e.g if one were to expect the limit for present to be around E15 but then the rules are set-up later to make the limit E25 it would seem very 'Bah humbug' if someone were to pull out because they couldn't afford to spend that on a stranger)
So, I'll do it again if
a) rules (for want of a better word) are clearer
b) someone with a little more experience/time served etc will collect names & other details
