Xbox 360 hacked already?

This has to be complete bollix and if someone obtains this software you would be quite insane to try it on a brand new machine worth €350.


A readme of....... well its fairly obvious of what.

Random crashes and fire aren't the only problems with the new XBox
360! We have already discovered how to execute unsigned code by
playing a carefully crafted corrupt MPEG2 file! This allowed us to
craft a swap disc. We are releasing the bootloader right away because
we only have one 360 to use for testing, and we need feedback. We
will begin releasing game images shortly. Please run the disc, and
send an email describing your results to xxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxx


How to use:
Step 1: Burn to DVD-R media using Alcohol 120%
Step 2: Begin to play this disc just like a DVD movie.
Step 3: After the into, wait for the countdown. After the countdown
finishes, a short starfield clip will play and freeze. At this point
the boot loader will run, and prompt you to swap in another disc.
Step 4: Eject the boot loader, put in your own disc, and enjoy!

If true im sure it be on http://www.theregister.co.uk/ in a few hours, couldnt be tho. No way Msft would allow something like to happen so easily. <<< Funny if you read thatline out loud <<<<

Me too... 360's are more than a €100 cheaper in Japan, and I'd love to send a few home!

What's the source on that anyway? Please post it up if not in breach of the charter.

It is in breach still nothing form any other sources other than this readme and the files that come with it.

I thinking its bollix otherwise Bbc and any other website would be reporting it.

found that file "somewhere" & i looked at the comments about it, turns out it is a vid of a starfield the some pictured apear of male "starfishes" & "interactions" between them & "sea cucumbers" hehe

if you did download and run the file and more than likley screw up your console would you be void of warrenty ??? As you dont open the box or anything.

Money up front and it'll be on its way! By the looks of things a lot of games'll be region free too. American copies of Gun, Tony Hawks etc will run on it. It's down to the publisher I think.

(on a side note, I found a place that sells CD drives and old pentiums etc for about 40cent, crazy)
