Boards is slow again

Why has boards become all slow again, pages take ages to appear. I can only think it has to do with the search function coming back. Hell, i hardly use it, would rather have a smooth running site than some search feature :o . Is it the search that is slowing it up?

Boards not working at all now!!!
    Using pie to post this.
Seems to coincide with the return of the search function?

Hi guys we are aware of the issue, I don't believe it to be related to search being enabled. If its the issue I'm aware of its being worked on right now. So i'll update you when I know more.

It's like a slug for me.

boards slowness is down to a problem with Hosting 365 who have major upstream connectivity problems at the moment. My servers in H365 are completely unreachable at the minute, so boards is better off than some.

    Everything should be fine now.

It's fixed now. Just showed a lot of people new site I started on h365 and it wasn't working so I felt silly.

Gone back to normal now, was unusable about an hour ago though.....what was the problem?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,382 ✭✭✭✭AARRRGH

I think it was a general hosting365 problem.

My server with them was semi-dead, so was P45rant's. And boards.ie obviously!

Odd layer 2 problems at INEX were the cause, we're investigating to ensure non recurrence.

nah, type "tracert www.boards.ie" (minus the quotes) into the command prompt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78,580 ✭✭✭✭Victor

I think it comes up with a sixth line, but then the application closes.

don't just use the Run dialog from the start menu ;)

Type "cmd" into Run, then "tracert www.boards.ie" into the command prompt which pops up.

Although it's a fairly safe bet that the problem lies with Netsource rather than hosting 365 because my traceroute from IBB is fine.
