Pighead has seen a lot of outpourings of emotion since regi announced the return of boards prodigal son otherwise known as SEARCH.
To get to the nub of what SEARCH means to the cult members of boards, Pighead asks you to explain in 2 sentences what SEARCH means to you. Heres my tribute.Also give an excitement rating if you think of it.

Pighead adores the SEARCH function as it enables him to find out whos been dissing him and calling him horrible names.Also use it for stalking most of the female members* of our cult.
*:Not including dublindude

PS: My excitement rating at having SEARCH back is 8/10

It was one of those things that you don't really appreciate until it's taken away. Definately glad to have it back. Lets hope it stays.

great that its back, first thing i do when i come into work is click on my bookmark for boards search, put in my name and i can see whos replied to threads ive posted in, also i'd say a lot of weary heads welcome back the ability to tell nubs to "use the serach button"

and you couldn't have done that with the subscribed threads function?

Pighead, I assume 4/10 is my apparent excitement level? I'd rate it a little higher...it was sheer fate that it came back online just as I needed it; my life's funny lke that...through it's technical wizardry the search function has managed to save me almost 150 nicker on an upcoming purchase.

BTW your seacrh tactic flawed since all any of your adversarys need do is tag "Pighead" onto every one of their posts and then when they ARE talking about you, spell it differently...not that I condone this type of scurrilous behaviour...

Search is essential for this site! Ja hay is us, it's good to have it back alright.

Folks, add this "http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/search.php?showposts=0&do=process&s=&searchuser=INSERTYOURUSERNAMEHERE" link to your favourites and you will see how useful search is. This link is what I use to get to boards, it shows everything you could want to know on the first page you get to on boards, it even shows quite a lot even if you're not logged in and it's easy to log in with the screen just there and the "remember me" button too.

no probs, it updates so that whatever you have replied to last will jump to the top of the list and other ones that are replied to are in bold and you can see who was the last to reply to certain posts etc. Sometimes it takes maybe 10 mins or so for it to be updated with a new thread you made or a thread that you haven't posted in before but it's still dead handy and you don't need to subscribe to threads or anything:)

Don't really see the big advantage to that tbh cormie. Sure you can set the control panel to show all recent threads you've posted in, and more.
