    Hi,

We just got a new kitchen in and are thinking about what to do about the splashback...we were initially thinking of tiling, but haven't seen any we like, so we were wondering what other options there are?

    Any suggestions?

One idea I had was a granite/stone/marble(?) splashback...

would that look ok with a wooden (light cherry) worktop ? Where would you get one? How much would it cost?

    Thanks a mil folks,

    Pyat

Your best bet is probably glass. I was just looking at some yesterday.
You can have them in any colour, small glass tiles. Apparently you
just peel off the back of them and stick them to the plaster, but just
make sure you like them, cos they take great chunks of plaster with
them if you try to take them off ...

I don't think a granite splashback would look good on its own.

stainless is grand till you get water marks and fingerprints on it, constantly needs cleaning

    Perspex.

We're looking to get it. That way it will be the same colour as the walls, and easly cleanable.

Glass tiles put directly onto plaster don't sould right at all.

Glass specially cut to your requirements is good but very costly.

Stainless steel is a bitch to clean and keep clean. Finger prints and baby oil all the time. Plus expensive

Perspex sounds cheap and easy. Any idea of types and prices??

Tile is traditional but is quite costly to get installed

This crowd do it, I've no idea of prices, service or quality.

If you get a quote do post as I would like to use this if the prices aren't off the wall.
