Does anybody know how long it will be untill a legal VideoGuard CAM will be available? I heard that the Italian government was getting on Sky Italia's case about Murdoch's hardware monopoly.

I know the Dreambox can do it, but I have an FTA receiver with a CI slot out in the shed and I'd love to be able to use it with Sky.

well, id say its far off, but there is a certain cam that can emulate videogaurd, but you must have a paid sub card to use it.

Thats all im saying, as were not really allowed talk about this.

I only want to use it for legal services of course. It's just nice to have the convenience of having the channels in the order you want them to be, something you can't do on the digibox.

It's a shame Sky went down the hardware monopoly route, it's one of the main reasons I haven't subscribed to them (yet).

It's also the reason Sky encryption hasn't been hacked.

But the card needs to be in a real digibox to receive updates.
