Does anyone have any recommendations for microphones for guitar amps for *live* playing. Have done some recording work but am buying a mic to put my amp through PA for live gigs.

Looking at getting something from Thomann in the E100 region.

    Any recomendations?

    Cheers

shure sm57 is the standard. Not sure of price, 100 should do it.

I concur SM57. Kinda the industry standard really...

Though if you want a slightly more versatile mic for similar money, the Studio Projects B1 is good for acoustic guitar as well as electric. Its pretty decent for vocals as well.

    I have both.

Sorry you said live work. The B1 would be for studio use only. Dont think it would last long on the road.
