    Hiya folks.

Just started using a Belkin wireless router which is situated downstairs in the front left room. But i can't get a signal up in my bedroom which is at the back of the right of the house. Is their anyway i can adjust the power settings on the router so as too imrove the signal?

Had a look through the router's browser interface but cant find anything.

I used one of these to boot the signal in my brothers house which has lots of big thick stone walls that the signal could not get through.

The same model, or a similar type of device from Belkin, would solve your problem if you set it up halfwayish between the router and where you cannot pick up the signal.

you can use a repeater like that alright, but they can be problematic if the router and it are not the same make/revision. They also reduce the bandwidth and increace the ping time.

Id say go for this if you can remove the antenna from your router, its worked wonders for me on a number of occasions:

Have you tried changing the channel of the router? Also, be sur ethat the antenna is at an angle across the area you want to cover. Usually you will catch more waves if you cut it at an angle.

Also, be sure to position it in a place where there is the minimum metal in its path to the other machine. So avoid metal shelves, pipes, water boilers etc etc.

Could you placethe router higher up?

In combination with that you could also use one of these guys products, clicky here to boost your signal even more. ;)

If you are going through one or more walls / floors try to reduce the angle at which it passses through those obstacles. Eg. if your wall is 6 inches thick but your signal goes at 45 degrees, the wall appears to be 12 inches thick ...
