[Request] 17 inch LCD Monitor

My brother is a computer games freak, and the family has decide to get him an LCD monitor for christmas. I drew the short straw and have to get it. Budget is in the 200 - 250 range. I know Argos have a 17 inch Acer 1714ms for €229 with 14ms response time, and Aldi are doing an 8ms response time 17 inch monitor for €219…

I know Argos have a 17 inch Acer 1714ms for €229 with 14ms response time, and Aldi are doing an 8ms response time 17 inch monitor for €219 this thursday.

Has anyone any prior experience of either of these? Or can anyone recommend somewhere else to look or a specific model to watch for?

Not sure what the Aldi one is like, but if he's a gamer, the lower response time is important.
