    Hey all,

Is anyone going to Bob Dylan in the point this weekend??

I'm going on Sunday night, I'm not a big fan....I don't really know his stuff at all, but my friend is a huge fan so I'm going with him!

What should I expect?? I'm hearing mixed reports!!

Bob Dylan is a genius of the highest order, anyone who says otherwise is just simply wrong!!! It'll be fantastic, i wanted to go but couldn't get tickets, was raging!!! Enjoy and Savour that concert!!

If you are not a big fan it may be hard to recognise the songs. A mixture of "greatest hits" and some more obscure ones. Even the "greatest hits" maybe played in a totally different way so it may be hard to spot. You will have to listen carefully.
    Heres the recent setlists

Dont know man, i love Dylan, i love nearly everything he has done (except that religious stuff in the late 80's) and went to see him at the last point gig and was not impressed at all, He played piano for the whole set and relied far too heavily on the ability of his band to mix the songs around so he could sing them, he looked in bad form which i suppose he always does and didnt speak to the crowd once, it was a bad experience for me as i was looking forward to going for months and i have to say i was let down

I'd bet that since you're not really a fan that you won't get much from the gig either. He doesn't play guitar, keyboards and harmonica is all you'll probably get, he plays all the classics differently (fair enough he's been playing them for 40 years so wants to shake it up) , its more about seeing him because he is a legend, than seeing him for the music, i'd prefer listen to his albums than listen to him live.

It's my first time seeing him this weekend but my uncle has been telling me that'll he'll either be amazing or sh*te....no middle ground, depending presumably on the type of chemicals in his bloodstream...

You have got to be joking!! he might have been boo'd off but i think its a safe bet it wasn't for lip-synching. (Although his dance moves are quite strenuous so maybe he had to mime some songs!!!)

As big a legend as he is he was embarrassingly bad the last time he played The Point, I actually cringing at how he was ruining his status in the eyes of people who were there. First gig I'd seen in a long time where people 4 or 5 songs in left

Judging on the number of tickets being sold on the for sale forum, I'd guess you may pick up some outside the Point for less then FACE VALUE off the touts!
I'd guess anybody who wanted to go got tickets when they went on sale but
there wouldn't be a big interest outside of the genuine fan.
As said above you either like or hate him, there's no middle ground
unlike some other artists where you mightn't be a big fan but you'd go anyway.

Bob isn't a great one to see if you're not really a fan. As
