    ok...I'll go with the sticky:

Location: I live in North Dublin.

Position: I'm currently working as a Senior Software Engineer. Mostly C++ / Perl. I'm a good coder. Looking for something similar, but would consider anything computer related.

Qualifications: 2:1 BSc. Comp. Sci. and 5 years experience.

Travel: Anywhere around the Dublin / Drogheda region would do. Preferably on the "intercity" train line. Not willing to relocate / drive for more than 60-80 minutes each way.

I have heard that amazon are recruiting very senior C++ people and are paying extremely well. They are located on Thomas Street (as far as I know).

Are you contacting recruiters and have you looked at the usual websites (irishjobs, monster, etc...)? Why post here for a very main stream job that you can find out about via any number of recruitment websites and agencies - I'm not trying to be smart about it - it just seems curious.

First off....thanks for the Amazon thing. I was going to apply to them, but couldn't find out where the hell they were located. Defo going to now.

The reason I'm posting here is that although it's a mainstream job, there are lots of jobs that are kinda "under the radar". You hear about them through a friend of a friend kinda thing. Just trying to maximise my chances of a decent job that I'll enjoy for a few years. :)

Fair enough. But I work in the same industry and from my experience the are very few jobs out there that the recruiters aren't all over. They are like sharks and can smell the hint of a company looking for staff a mile away:D
