    hi all
im 6ft 2 and 11 stone, i want to put on about 2 stone weight but am finding it very difficult. i cant and dont want to simply put on the weight by simply stuffing my face (and it does not work for me anyway), what would be the best way to do so, im not sure i have the dedication to go to the gym everyday, and obviously protein drinks will not work without gym work aswell.
im sure the best advice is probably just get up off my ass and go to the gym but maybe not anyadvice would be greatly appreciated:D

OK, I'll address your different points. First off though, you are lazy!

If you want to gain weight, you have to eat more than your maintenance level. At that weight and height, you're clearly an ectomorph. You DO need to stuff your face. Hell, I'd love to say just take weight gainer but the best thing to do is horse the food out of it. I take in around 5000 cals/day over 6/7 meals - it means I have to precook meals before I go to college in morning but it has to be done. If you wanna stay at the same weight don't do this.

As for the gym, if you want the weight to be quality weight, yes go to a gym. With your metabolism you won't need cardio, esp not to gain weight, so just go 3 days per week and do very basic exercises and work on increasing these progressively.

Finally, protein w/o the gym is not useless; for instance just becuase yoiu don't go to a gym doesn't mean you should stop eating meat! It is pointless though!

You've effectively answered your own question here. You're not going to put on 2 stone without lifting heavy weights. If you're not willing to put in the effort then there's no point wanting to get bigger.

Easygainer, I've been trying to calculate my daily calorie intake, could you give me an example of the calorie breakdown of one of your meals? trying to figure out how you get 5000 in one day!

    Cheers..

multiply weight in pounds * 20 =maintenace for active man, eat 500 more than this to increase muscle keep increasing as you get heavier.
get about 2 grams protein per kilo or slighlty more.consume a lot of whey protein(60-100grams) after workout with dextrose(60-100grams)when you get total calories divide it into protein 30% carbs 40% fat 30% spead these throughout day try not to consume too much fat with high carb meals as this can lead to fat depositation from insulin spike from carbs.consume omega 3oils and extra virgin olive oil.
lift very heavy doing 5-7 reps per exercise do 4 sets of each exercise ,hit each bodypart once a week directly.

Red meat is a great source of protein, but if you don't like it, then opt for chicken, turkey, tuna, eggs, dairy products, all of which are good sources of protein.

If you are finding it difficult to put on weight then the problem is simple, you are not eating enough. It can be a pain, but you simply have to start eating more frequently, getting better quality meals etc. The easiest way to do this is to prepare it all in advance, as easygainer mentioned. You can do it in the morning, before work/college etc or you can do it the night before, but either way you have to be dedicated and you have to be prepared and organised. It does get easier with time and before you know it preparing all your meals becomes second nature, but its something you're gonna have to do if you want to gain lean weight.

Are they all 16-20 year olds?
