Understanding the media

Hi, would any UL boardsters have Eoin Devereux's "Understanding the Media" from a previous year that they'd like to sell?

nobody bought that the year i did that course, people generally preferred to resort to violence in the library for the copy that was there :rolleyes:

only problem is i'm on erasmus for another three weeks - how soon do ya need it?
what course are you doing?

I'm not really in a rush for it but I would like to get it before Christmas if possible. I'm doing Languages and Cultural Studies.
Where are you on Erasmus?

Did you just do that module for one semester?

on erasmus in norway, cool place but way too expensive

yeah it was just one semester, back in second year i think.

@ Hoody; If it was possible to get it before then, that'd be great, but otherwise I'll take it from you when you get back.
I heard Norway is expensive alright but a beautiful country. I was in Sweden before which was fairly dear too but a class country.
Sure if you want to pm me or reply to this thread when something comes up with the book I'd appreciate it.

Ya, same here then going on Co-op. How did you find the marking for it? I've missed a few lectures and tutorials but there's no final exam just projects.

i remember doing the media diary, that was a pain in the bum, and i cant really remember much else. perhaps ive blocked it out??
anyway, i wasnt v happy with my result, i dont think i was too clear on what eoin was looking for. make sure u ask him if u have any doubts.

Ya the M.D. is a pain alright. I only handed mine in last week, nearly two weeks late..... It must have been pretty traumatic for you though if you've blocked out those distressing memories? I think something traumatic must have happened to me this semester because I can't remember most of it!

Ya, it is interesting alright. Media diary when I finished it, did open my eyes a bit to the amount of media I consume. Gives you a different view towards printed media and the news too.

yeah it was a pretty cool module, usually i dont get sociology. what is the other project ye had to do? i forget

I haven't even thought about starting it yet. We have a choice between ideology in the media and something else.... not really sure what the other one is, some kind of survey I think. Are you in the midst of your FYP?
