    What kind of response should I reasonably expect from the nearest IBB mast?

    Well I'm getting a lot worse than that:
    11 packets transmitted, 11 received, 0% packet loss, time 10008ms
    rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 35.115/50.703/92.383/14.567 ms

    I get 3ms to 3Rock.. Its the final hop from their network to the net that is killing me..

    with ripwave i get 500ms+ with ~30% packet loss to the siac building in dublin. I'm about half a mile away.

    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 3ms, Maximum = 68ms, Average = 10ms

    Thats to the RTE mast from rathmines

    thats a big problem, u contacted ibb? is it always like that.

    We haven't contacted them yet, but for a service that is presumably underused (in Carlow) they really aren't starting out on the "right foot"

    "Reasonable" shouldn't be used in the same sentance as IBB.

    Try using An Post, you will almost certainly get a faster response.

    That's not bad compared to what I've been getting for the last month. Has your modem being upgraded?
