I never open my NTL bills as I use direct debit, but today I bothered and saw that I'm subscibed to something called Go Digital Max and as well as Access, whats the story here?

Is this some NTL defintion which means nothing other than the fact i have Go Digital or am I paying for something I'm not getting? (I'm not subscribed to anything extra like Sky Sports/Film Four etc)

    Mike.

Ring them. 1800-321-321. It's free and will be quicker and more accurate than replies here.

ntl: have a strange way of billing for digital
I've got Digital Max at €10 per month and an additional point at €5 per month
Total for two months = €30

    my bill reads something like:
    Go Digital Access €8.26
    Go Digital Max €8.26
    Additional Go Digital Max €8.26

Add them together you get €24.78
Add vat at 21% - It comes to €30

It's just their way of representing something simple in a confusing fashion!

    I'm on cable in Dublin
I have free basic channels for 12 months as I subscribed to digital and broadband when I moved into my new house in April.
So I just pay for my two digital boxes
I'll have to pay €19.50 per month for Basic next year.

NTL charge you 2 separate charges for the normal full digital package -

Go Digital Access (limited number of channels on digital) - €5 pm inc vat
Go Digital Max (the rest of the channels on digital) - anther €5 pm inc vat

In total this makes €10 for the full digital package

Just to clear things up, it's 8.26 Euro without VAT, which will turn up at ~10 Euro with VAT. Anyway, just called NTL, and apparently the Go Digital Max entry is for the service / channels, while the Go Digital Access the rent for the digital box... This doesn't feel quite right, as I thought the 10 Euro will include both of them...

Finally I understand what the guy tried to explain to me :) The channels and box rental are listed as two separate entries of 10 Euro, but they cover 2 MONTHS! which means 10 Euro a month basically, as advertised... ;)

You should give them a call for the additional Go Digital Max thing...
